KEYNOTE SPEAAKER
Rui Loureiro

Professor of Surgical & Rehabilitation Engineering at UCL, London, UK where he leads the Department of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Science and the Aspire Centre for Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology. Recently he has been appointed Research Director of the new NHS-led National Rehabilitation Centre. He specialises in advanced human interactive systems for surgery and rehabilitation. He has pioneered work in stroke rehabilitation, traumatic brain, spine and nerve injuries, bionics, movement disorders and neuropathic pain, and has a wealth of experience with both the design of rehabilitation technologies and the translation of such aids to clinical practice.

Sebastián is a consultant specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Advanced Analytics, with over 25 years of experience leading innovative projects. A lecturer at various institutions across Latin America, he has collaborated with companies like IBM and Microsoft. Dr. Jose Luis Carrasco
Congress Chair
Researcher, academic, entrepreneur, and science communicator. Doctor in Education, Master's in Educational Informatics and Knowledge Management, and Civil Computer Engineer. He currently works as an academic in the Department of Electronics and Informatics at the Concepción campus of the Federico Santa María Technical University. In addition, he is part of the DANAIR research group in the same department, where he leads the Educational Informatics and Emerging Technologies line. He is also a collaborating professor in the Doctoral Program in Artificial Intelligence (CRUCH Biobío-Ñuble).

Dr. Rhoddy Viveros-Muñoz
Scientific Committee Chair
Rhoddy Viveros-Muñoz is an Electrical Engineer with a Dr.-Ing. degree from RWTH Aachen University. He specializes in acoustic virtual reality and machine learning applications in hearing. He has conducted postdoctoral research at Cardiff University, UK, and Universidad Austral de Chile, focusing on applying machine learning to audiological solutions. His research areas include artificial neural networks, speech perception in noise, auditory cognition, and the brain mechanisms involved in speech perception in complex environments. Currently, he works as an Academic at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Concepción, and is a member of the teaching staff of the PhD program in Artificial Intelligence in the Biobío region.

Cristian Lara Valenzuela is a Civil Engineer in Computer Science and holds a Master's degree in Educational Computing and Knowledge Management. He currently serves as the Director of the Department of Electronics and Computer Science. at UniversidadTécnica Federico Santa María, Concepción, Chile.

Dr. Jorge Portilla
Scientific Committee
Jorge Portilla is an Engineer and holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering. His research area lies at the intersection of disciplines related to machine learning, image processing, high-performance computing, and optical sensors, among other sub-disciplines associated with computing and electronics. In recent years, he has been involved in multiple projects focused on the development of specialized computational systems for intelligent fault detection, diagnosis, and monitoring in applications related to electrical machines, combustion, and energy.
He is currently an academic at the Department of Electronic and Informatic Engineering at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Concepción, Chile. He also serves as a professor in the Doctoral Program in Artificial Intelligence carried out in consortium by the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities of Biobío-Ñuble.

Dr. Javier Maldonado
Scientific Committee
Computer Engineer from Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira (UNET), Venezuela, in 2005. He earned a Master in Computer Science from the Universidad de los Andes (ULA) in Mérida, Venezuela, in 2012. He is Doctor in Computer Engineering at USM in 2023. His research focuses on evolutionary computing, machine learning applications in detection and classification of cyber attacks, combinatorial optimization, and service infrastructure.
Areas of expertise include operating systems, computer networks, IT service infrastructure, cybersecurity, evolutionary computing, and machine learning.

Dra. Carla E. Contreras Saavedra
Scientific Committee
Spanish Language Teacher and Speech-Language Pathologist, graduated from the University of Concepción, she earned her doctorate at the Institute of Experimental Cognitive Psychology at RWTH Aachen University (Germany). She currently works as a researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry and Rehabilitation Sciences for the School of Speech-Language Pathology at Universidad San Sebastián. She is recognized as an interdisciplinary researcher committed to generating decentralized and innovative knowledge. Her work focuses on the application of cutting-edge technologies and digital transformation in rehabilitation sciences and communication studies.
